ABOUT #ExposeDementia

#ExposeDementia is a movement that was born from the pain of watching loved ones battle dementia and feeling helpless and hopelessness. After learning that dementia is a public health crisis in America, especially in the African American community, award-winning filmmaker and bestselling author C. Nathaniel Brown set out on a quest to learn more about dementia and to share that knowledge with others. It started with a short film called That's My Brother, a short film called The Present, a documentary called Remember Me: Dementia in the African American Community, and a book called Exposing Dementia: 8 Critical Takeaways for African Americans.

African Americans are twice as likely as their white counterparts to be diagnosed with some form of dementia. Many believe the disparity is much greater. As a result of dementia information obtained through research, interviews and projects,  Expected End Entertainment, LLC, is hosting a series of screenings of the award-winning documentary Remember Me followed by a Q&A session.

Dubbed “The Expose Dementia Tour”, these events in 15 cities across the country will bring awareness to dementia’s impact on the African American community and provide resources for those with dementia, family caregivers and the community at large. In addition to the documentary, filmmaker and international bestselling author C. Nathaniel Brown will make available his book, Exposing Dementia: 8 Critical Takeaways for African Americans.

The tour includes cities such as: Baltimore; Pittsburgh; Houston; Denver; Milwaukee; and Los Angeles. A full list of the cities are posted on the Tour Page. Additional information will be added to this site and distributed to subscribers as dates and locations are secured.

EXPOSE DEMENTIA TOUR

2024

SCREENINGS and Q&A

Our approach is to take this critical information - through the documentary and book - directly to the people and the cities who need it. Our committee has identified nearly two dozen cities to begin the tour, which includes a screening and a Q&A/Panel Discussion (depending on the city). Additional cities will be added. If your city is not listed but you would like the tour to stop in your community, reach out to us at exposedementia@gmail.com.
